Dear SUNY Oswego Students,

As previously shared with students via email and prominently posted on the Oswego Forward websiteall SUNY Oswego students (with an on-campus presence) MUST RECEIVE A BOOSTER SHOT for the spring 2022 semester.

Students are eligible for a booster shot 5 months after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, and 2 months after receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Staff in our Dean of Students Office are communicating directly with students and letting you know when you are eligible for your booster. Once eligible, students will have 30 days from the eligibility date to “get boosted.”

Get Boosted on Campus

To assist our students in complying with the booster requirement, SUNY Oswego is hosting the following on-campus booster clinics, to be administered by Wegmans Pharmacy.
  • Tuesday, February 15
    11 am to 4 pm
    SUNY Oswego, Swetman Gymnasium
Pfizer, Moderna and J&J Booster - Schedule your appointment
  • Wednesday, February 16
    11 am to 4 pm
    SUNY Oswego, Swetman Gymnasium
Pfizer, Moderna and J&J Booster - Schedule your appointment

NOTE: Those scheduling their booster shots will need to enter the '13126' zip code and pick one of the dates (2/15 or 2/16) to locate the SUNY Oswego-hosted clinics in the Wegmans “app.”

Once you receive your booster shot, you are no longer required to test monthly. Instructions are provided to assist SUNY Oswego students with submitting their COVID-19 vaccine records, including booster shots and test results, via the Medicat Patient Portal.

Get Tested Until You Receive Your Booster

If you are not eligible yet for your booster, you must test once per month until you receive your booster shot. See below for the monthly testing schedule:
  • Students whose last name begins with A-L will test the first or second week of each month (ex: Feb. 1 - Feb. 11) at the Poucher testing center
  • Students whose last name begins with M-Z will test the third or fourth week of each month (ex: Feb. 14 - 28) at the Poucher testing center
  • Students at our Syracuse campus:  Monthly surveillance testing will be offered in Syracuse on the first Wednesday of each month (March 2 and April 6) from 3 to 6 p.m.

Visit the Testing Center web page for more information; days and hours of operation; and the five acceptable ways to test and provide results.

Unvaccinated students (with approved medical or religious exemptions) must continue to complete mandatory weekly testing for the duration of the academic year.

Remember, if you tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 90 days, you are exempt from participating in campus surveillance testing. To be exempt, you must submit your positive test result through the Medicat Patient Portal.

If you have any questions, please email covidtesting@oswego.edu.  #BeWellOswego.

Warm regards,
