With spring break upon us and members of our campus community preparing for the transition to online and distance learning, beginning March 23, I write to you this evening to provide you with several key points.
- SUNY Oswego is open and as a residential campus we will remain open throughout the entire spring semester.
- After spring break, starting on Monday, March 23, all courses will be delivered ONLINE OR THROUGH DISTANCE EDUCATION until at least April 13.
- Internships, co-ops, and student teaching placements will continue unless other arrangements are made.
- Residence halls, dining halls and other campus facilities, Administrative offices and student services WILL REMAIN OPEN.
- Students can stay on campus or may choose to go home. Students who want to remain on campus must see Residence Life and Housing in 303 Culkin Hall before 3 pm on Friday, March 13 or email reslife@oswego.edu after that date.
- Students who are employed on or off campus should talk with their supervisor as soon as possible regarding their work plans.
- All events (including seminars, conferences, etc.) scheduled on or after March 13, and until at least April 13, are canceled or must be moved to an online format.
- All athletic practices and competitions are canceled for the remainder of the spring semester.
- Centro buses are still running – please check the Centro schedule for the most current information.
- Commencement information will be sent at a later date.
Please know that we will be closely monitoring the situation; staying connected with all of you -- students, faculty and staff -- and providing regular updates on the Oswego COVID-19 website.
