The Start Now program is a unique partnership between SUNY Oswego, Jefferson Community College (JCC) and Onondaga Community College (OCC).
Start Now will allow you to begin your college career at JCC or OCC and live in a campus residence hall there. When you are ready, you can apply to transfer to SUNY Oswego as early as your sophomore year to earn your bachelor's degree — Start Now is designed to enable you to earn two degrees: your associate's and your bachelor's degree!

Both Jefferson Community College and Onondaga Community College have a long-standing tradition of working with SUNY Oswego to help students reach their goals. In fact, JCC and OCC are two of Oswego's leading transfer institutions.
Students are guaranteed that credits earned at JCC or OCC will transfer to SUNY Oswego as part of the SUNY Student Mobility Iniative. Furthermore, Start Now participants save thousands of dollars by attending JCC or OCC.

Dedicated Staff and Special Trips to SUNY Oswego — Just for You
All Start Now students receive personalized attention and support from a dedicated Start Now Coordinator who works with Start Now program students to guide them through developing a clear academic path that can lead to completing both an associate's and a bachelor's degree. The Start Now Coordinator meets regularly with Start Now students at each partner institution to provide weekly support.
In addition, the Start Now Coordinator also plans frequent trips for Start Now students enrolled at JCC or OCC to SUNY Oswego which is only one hour away. These trips enable Start Now students to familiarize themselves with SUNY Oswego before transferring there. Organized trips are always no cost to Start Now students and include a shuttle bus to and from JCC or OCC. Trips include attending SUNY Oswego hockey games, orientation sessions, plays and more!
Start Now students at JCC and OCC also benefit from working with the Start Now Retention Specialist who is another professional devoted to helping Start Now students succeed and remain enrolled in college and on their path toward college graduation.
