Campus Accessibility Initiative and Groups

Our Initiative

SUNY Oswego has a rich history and long record of embracing diversity, equity, and inclusivity throughout our college community. Embracing digital accessibility is a key component of creating the inclusive atmosphere that the College prides itself on.

Today, accessibility touches nearly every aspect of campus life, including course materials, the college website, software, and the numerous tools used in curricular and co-curricular programs, services, and activities. We are committed to improving the accessibility of web content and all related digital media, including audio and video. Web Steering Committee

Accessibility is the inclusive practice of removing barriers to learning, especially for students with disabilities. Disabilities can be permanent (such as being blind, having only one arm, or living with ADHD), temporary (having a broken arm or cataracts), or situational (driving a car, holding a baby, or sharing the internet with multiple family members). All users have equal access to information and functionality when websites and other digital media are properly designed, developed, edited and maintained. SUNY Oswego is committed to improving accessibility of web content and all related digital media, including audio and video.
