Contact
My name is Dr. Stephanie Wallace and I am the Assistant Director for CSTEP at SUNY Oswego. I began this role in the spring of 2023 and am excited to begin my journey in higher education. I have been a life-long learner, beginning my undergraduate studies at Mercyhurst University, earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a concentration in Psychology and Law and concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. I then worked my way down the east coast and earned my Master of Art’s in Forensic Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C., and Master of Art’s in Clinical Psychology at the Florida School of Professional Psychology, before ending with my Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Educational Leadership. I have worked in various mental health counseling and leadership roles for over thirteen years, focusing on underserved individuals, forensic settings, and diverse cultural and socio-economic status populations. My work experience is eclectic, spanning from leadership roles in non-profit agencies, to working in state sanctioned facilities. I have a strong belief in giving back to local communities and supporting those in need. I have had the privilege of serving in various adjunct capacities with St. Petersburg College and City College and have served as an advisory board member, and mentor within establishments such as City College and Believe in Syracuse.
In my role as Assistant Director of CSTEP, my sole mission is to aid the students of today to prepare to be our leaders of tomorrow! Every student deserves an opportunity to thrive and prosper! This program allows students who come from underserved and diverse communities to have a voice, a safe space, and an opportunity to gain support to help them reach their academic and professional goals. My hopes for this program continue to evolve as we see a need for students to gain access to research, internship, education, and conference interests that will only excel these students’ careers.
In my free time, I am a busy bee! My blended family enjoys exploring nature, farming, fishing, engaging in sports, reading and going to see new places and things. Fall is the best season of all up here in Upstate New York, so you will catch us apple picking, picking and chucking pumpkins, jumping in the leaves, picking sunflowers and taking some hayrides.
