Campus Adopts Grackle to Promote Universal Design in Google Docs

Recent initiatives on campus have focused on creating digital content all people are able to access easily and effectively using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. In support of this initiative, CTS has obtained a site license for a Google Apps add-on called Grackle. This program will take files created with Google Docs, Slides or Sheets and run them through an accessibility checker.

Using the feedback from the program, people can go through their files and see what parts are not following accessibility guidelines and how they can correct the problems. After going through the document and making needed changes, they have the option to then export the file into a PDF.

If you would like to learn more, read about making accessible files in Google Apps and how to install Grackle in our accessibility website.
