New Zoom Security Feature is Now Available
SUNY Oswego’s instance of Zoom now has a feature that can be enabled to allow only authenticated SUNY Oswego attendees into meetings. This is a security feature that can be used in addition to the other features to deter Zoom bombers. It is available now for you to use.
Here are some additional points:
- Already scheduled and future meetings can be configured with this feature.
- It can be turned on/off for each individual meeting. Therefore, you can require authentication for some meetings and not require it for others. If you are inviting non-SUNY Oswego attendees to a specific meeting, you would need to turn it off for that meeting.
- Authentication can be achieved using your existing SUNY Oswego Zoom account or using your SUNY Oswego LakerApps (Google) account.
- This feature is also available for Zoom webinars.
In the near future, this feature will be turned on for all newly scheduled meetings by default. A future communication will notify the campus of when this will take place.
Please contact the Help Desk for assistance using this feature.
