Zoom Live Transcription and Authentication Updates
Live transcription
In support of the SUNY Oswego Accessibility initiative to provide digital services that are inclusive to all audiences, CTS wanted to let you know about a live transcription feature built into Zoom. While in a meeting, the host can turn on automatic, live transcription which can be optionally viewed by all participants. For instructions on how meeting hosts can enable this feature, read the Turning on Closed Captioning/Live Transcription in Zoom instructions.
Authenticating into Zoom
As a reminder, Zoom authentication now uses your SUNY Oswego email address and password. If you are experiencing any issues logging in, please review CTS' Common Zoom Authentication Errors document for assistance.
Meeting authentication
CTS has learned that the meeting authentication setting is turned on only for new Zoom accounts in the SUNY Oswego domain. If you have an existing account and you’d like to schedule meetings such that participants have to authenticate to get into the meeting, you will need to turn this feature on in your Zoom settings. Please see CTS' Zoom Authentication Security Feature for Meetings instructions.
