Two Free Movie Screenings Concerning Online Safety
As part of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month, CTS will be sponsoring two movies. Relax with some free popcorn while watching popular movies about cybersecurity. There is no cost for admission.
"Deep Web" (2015) will be shown on Thursday, October 15, 7:00pm - 8:45pm, Marano Campus Center Auditorium, room 132. It is a documentary about the now-defunct illicit online marketplace called the Silk Road, the man behind it ("Dread Pirate Roberts") and his subsequent arrest.
"Kim Dotcom: Caught in the Web" (2017) will be shown on Tuesday, October 29, 7:00pm - 9:00pm, Marano Campus Center Auditorium, room 132. It is a documentary about the man (born Kim Schmitz) who started out as a tech entrepreneur, but later gained infamy as a self-proclaimed hacker and phreaker, a man accused of insider trading, and as the owner of Megaupload, a defunct cloud storage service hosting pirated content.
