Juneteenth and Independence Day Holiday 2021
Juneteenth 2021 Holiday
We have been advised by the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations that another day will not be designated as an observed holiday by State employees in lieu of June 19, 2021.
Full-time employees who are entitled to observe holidays, and are not scheduled to work on Saturday, June 19, will be credited with holiday compensatory time after June 19, 2021.
Employees who are regularly scheduled to work on Saturday will observe Saturday, June 19 as a holiday unless required to work. Any employee required to work on Saturday, June 19, 2021, will receive either paid holiday pay or granted holiday compensatory time off (holiday leave), as appropriate.
Part-time employees eligible to observe holidays are entitled to observe only those holidays that fall on days when the employee is regularly scheduled to work or actually works. However, eligible part-time employees scheduled to work at least half-time, that do not work on Saturday, June 19, but who are regularly scheduled to work on Friday, June 18, will be credited with holiday leave equivalent to the number of hours in the employee’s regular Friday schedule.
Independence Day Holiday
Sunday, July 4, 2021 will be observed on Monday, July 5. The campus is considered closed on Monday, July 5, 2021 in observance of the holiday. Employees regularly scheduled to work on Sunday will observe July 4 on Sunday. Employees not scheduled to work either Sunday or Monday will be credited with holiday compensatory time after July 4, 2021. If an employee does not normally observe the holiday on Sunday and works on Monday, July 5, they either accumulate the holiday or are paid holiday pay depending upon the attendance rules for the bargaining unit.
