Potential Spam email regarding Flex Spending

We have been advised that “Fringepay.com” has sent a mailing to some SUNY employees, which includes a “Benefits Debit Mastercard” and a statement indicating that the card “may be linked to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), Dependent Care Account (DCA), Transit/Parking Account, or other benefit account”. The FringePay web site notes that FringePay is the new version of “benepass”, and features fillable fields including card number and social security number.

We have confirmed with GOER that neither the current NYS Flex Spending Account (FSA) vendor WageWorks/Health Equity, nor the new NYS-Ride vendor (for 2022) Edenred Commuter Benefits, sent this mailing out, therefore it may well be a scam.
