Special Option Transfer Period for APSU

We have received notice that as a result of the interest arbitration between APSU and the State of New York health insurance rates will change starting August 5, 2021. Option transfer will be from July 1, through July 30, 2021. The 2021 Health Insurance Choices booklet, which outlines the benefits of each plan, is available here.

To change your health insurance option, you must complete a NYS Health Insurance Transaction Form, located here.  Changes will be effective August 5, 2021. 

Below are the rates for the Empire Plan.  Rate changes will be reflected in your August 4, 2021 paycheck. If you are currently enrolled in an HMO, please check the following link for your health insurance NYSHIP rates for 2021, Empire Plan rates are below.

2021 Empire Plan Rates                                                  

Individual (salary Grade 10 or above)      $ 61.73                                              

Family (salary Grade 10 or above)          $ 237.76

If you do not want to change your health insurance plan there is nothing that needs to be done, new rates will automatically start in your August 4, 2021 paycheck.
