SUNY BOT Adopt Continuing/Permanent Appointment Flexibility
We are pleased to share with you additional information and procedures about the recently negotiated agreement between SUNY and UUP regarding continuing and permanent appointment flexibility in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The agreement included the following:
Faculty
Academic rank employees will receive an automatic one-year extension of their clock, without change in title, full-time equivalent, or other employment status. Any faculty member who wants to stay on their current review schedule can opt out of the extension. If you wish to OPT OUT of the one-year extension please complete this form and submit to the Office of Human Resources by September 1. If you elect to opt out, Human Resources will notify your Department Chair and Dean.
Professional Staff
Professional Staff who are coming up for review in the next two years (2020-2022) shall be granted an extension of their time to permanent appointment of up to six months, if requested by the employee. If you wish to extend your permanent appointment review clock please complete this form and submit to the Office of Human Resources by December 31, 2020. If you request an extension, Human Resources will notify your supervisor.
