Federal Payroll Tax Holiday

This message is in response to questions and concerns about the Federal Payroll Tax Holiday. At this time, SUNY Oswego has received no information from the Office of State Comptroller (OSC) regarding the payroll tax holiday put into effect this month by Executive Order of the federal government. The Executive Order provides for Social Security tax normally withheld from payroll to be deferred through the end of 2020 and repaid in 2021. However, SUNY Oswego cannot implement the deferral of such tax without further direction from OSC and SUNY. We will keep employees apprised of any updates on this issue as more information becomes available.
