Christmas Day 2022 and New Year’s Day 2023 Holiday
Each eligible employee is entitled to one day as a Christmas Day holiday and one day as a New Year’s Day holiday for purposes of holiday compensation. The days that eligible CSEA represented, PEF represented, UUP represented (non-faculty), and Management/Confidential (M/C) employees will observe as the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays will be contingent upon their regular work schedule* as follows:

*Regular work schedule means that the eligible employee is normally scheduled to work on that day as part of their basic workweek. It does not include a day that is scheduled as the employee’s pass day on which the employee is scheduled or directed to work on an overtime basis.
CSEA represented employees who are eligible to observe the Christmas Day holiday on Sunday, December 25, 2022, and who work on this day as part of their regular work schedule, are eligible (based on their previous designation) to receive holiday pay or holiday compensatory time at the time and one-half rate for this day only. CSEA and PEF represented employees for whom the Christmas Day holiday is observed as December 26, 2022, and who work on this day, are eligible (based on their previous designation) to receive holiday pay or holiday compensatory time at the straight time rate.
CSEA represented employees who are eligible to observe the New Year’s Day holiday on Sunday, January 1, 2023 or Monday, January 2, 2023, and who work on this day as part of their regular work schedule, are eligible (based on their previous designation) to receive holiday pay or holiday compensatory time at the straight time rate.
UUP-represented employees who are eligible to observe the Christmas Day holiday on Sunday, December 25, 2022, and who work on this day as part of their regular work schedule, shall be granted one and one-half compensatory days off. UUP-represented employees for whom the Christmas Day holiday is observed as December 26, 2022, and who work on this day, shall be granted one compensatory day off.
UUP-represented employees who are eligible to observe the New Year’s Day holiday on Sunday, January 1, 2023 or Monday, January 2, 2023, and who work on this day, shall be granted one compensatory day off.
Eligible unclassified M/C employees who work on the observed Christmas Day and/or New Year’s Day holiday(s), will be granted holiday compensatory time at the straight time rate.
