Schedules for semester closing and summer hours

Here is closing information for some key resources as the end of the 2024 spring semester approaches.

Penfield Library

The library will change its hours to the following after May 11.

Pre-summer semester hours: May 12 to 18

  • Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: closed

Regular summer hours: May 20 to Aug. 9

ASAP to present session on 'Ending Strong'

The Adult Student Assistance Program (ASAP) will host a virtual session on "Ending Strong: Ending Strong: Strategies for navigating the end of the semester with less stress and worry" at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 29.

Organizers hope that attendees can gear up to finish the semester on a high note. This final ASAP session of the spring semester is aimed at equipping students with effective techniques to successfully navigate the challenges that often arise as the semester concludes.

Office of Learning Services tutors helping students prepare for finals

In preparation for final exams, Office of Learning Services (OLS) peer tutors will be holding review sessions in a myriad of subjects and courses. These review sessions began as of April 29 and will continue through May 7.

In addition to course-based review sessions, the Writing Center will offer extended drop-in hours from Sunday, May 5, to Wednesday, May 8.

Stephen Davis to speak at Oswego

The Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter at Oswego announced that Stephen Davis will speak at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, in 122 Shineman Center.

SEFA children’s book drive supporting local Bookmobile

April 24, 2024

The SUNY Oswego State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) Committee is again partnering with the Oswego Bookmobile for the fourth annual children’s book drive.

The effort invites campus and community members to donate new and like-new books for children ages 3 to 18. The book drive -- with boxes in Culkin Hall, Marano Campus Center and Rich Hall on campus -- will run through May 8.

Retirement celebration announced for Liz Droz

The Office of the Dean of Students invites the campus community to a retirement celebration in honor of Liz Droz, associate dean of students, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, in 501 Culkin Hall.

Light refreshments will be served.

UUP Spring Mixer slated May 3

The SUNY Oswego chapter of United University Professions (UUP) will host a Spring Mixer with snacks and one complimentary drink at Vona’s from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3.

Organizers note that this is for members only, so those who have not joined might find this a good time to do so.

There will also be a raffle for any member who contributes to UUP's VOTE-COPE campaign.

Those interested can send RSVPs to uup@Oswego.edu by Tuesday, April 30.

Volunteer ushers sought for May Commencement

As the campus prepares to celebrate many graduates during three ceremonies on Saturday, May 11, the Public Ceremonies Committee again seeks volunteer ushers to help ensure a happy day for families and friends in attendance.

Ushers help with overall crowd control and seating people with special needs at the ceremonies in the Marano Campus Center's Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall, but moreover they help make this joyous day run smoother for the many guests celebrating this important milestone.

Volunteers can work one, two or three ceremonies:

OzFest daylong schedule announced, parking lot closures set

The full schedule, as well as information on some parking lot closures, is now available for the daylong OzFest on Friday, May 3.

While the day is headlined by a concert featuring Grammy-nominated entertainer Offset, a whole slate of activities will run from noon to 11 p.m.
