SUNY Oswego earns several national Broadcast Education Association awards

SUNY Oswego students and faculty recently earned honors in seven categories -- more awards than any other SUNY school by a large margin -- through the national Broadcast Education Association.

Lavender Graduation is an event in which LGBTQ+ students acknowledge what they have accomplished, as well as what they hope to accomplish in the future. Hosted by Pride Alliance, this semester's Lavender Graduation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m on Thursday, May 8.

SUNY Oswego's Empire State Service Corps members attended the inaugural "Service and Civics Summit" in Syracuse on March 1. Participants had the opportunity to connect with Corps members from other SUNY institutions, and engage with Chancellor John B. King Jr. during a fireside chat.

STEAM Camp seeks instructors this summer

SUNY Oswego’s STEAM Camp is seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead engaging, hands-on courses for students ages 5–14 this summer.

Since 2017, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Camp has inspired young learners through interactive programs in coding, robotics, game design, creative arts and more.

The program will run Aug. 4 to 8 and Aug. 11 to 15 for students entering grades K–9. Daily schedule is 9:30 a.m. to noon, 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Clarification of Code of Conduct changes

On Wednesday, March 5, students were notified that revisions had been approved by the University Council to the Code of Conduct, found within the Student Handbook.

The revisions to the Code of Conduct expand opportunities and protections for students. This includes greater options for students when appealing disciplinary action and a new alternative resolution option which may be used in lieu of a formal disciplinary process when appropriate.

ASAP talk to explore ‘Navigating Common Legal Hurdles for Students’

The Adult Student Assistance Program (ASAP), designed to help adult learners connect with SUNY Oswego and other students, will virtually discuss "Navigating Common Legal Hurdles for Students" at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 13.

Kristin Shanley, an attorney who offers free legal services through the SUNY Oswego Student Association, will offer an opportunity for students to get their general legal questions answered and discover free resources and support available.
