Sustainability Week to offer variety of programs

October 11, 2021

Sustainability Week, Oct. 18 to 23, invites students, faculty and staff to show their Laker pride by participating in sustainable efforts across our campus with a week full of programs and events that include composting, hiking, seed saving, campus cleanups, tree planting and a fall festival.

'Elsewhere' to mark student productions returning to Waterman Theatre

SUNY Oswego’s theatre department will present its first live in-person play since the pandemic -- with some thematic parallels -- in “Elsewhere,” running Oct. 20 to 24 in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.

Physics professor Carolina Ilie earns international honor as Sigma Xi Fellow

Oswego physics professor Carolina Ilie was one of 15 scholars selected as Sigma Xi Fellows, a prestigious honor for continued contribution to the international honor society and the field of scientific research.

Her Campus to host writing workshop tonight

The members of Her Campus will host a writing workshop at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, in 306 Marano Campus Center. 

Jenna Wilson, the senior editor of the Oswego chapeter of the publicaton, will lead a presentation about how to write both for class and publication, as well as giving general tips and tricks to improve attendees' writing. 

Her Campus is an online international magazine for college women with chapters in colleges all over the world including one in Oswego for the past 10 years. 

SUNY Oswego to require spectators show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test at indoor events

Effective Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, all spectators* (ages 5 and up) at indoor events must show proof of having completed a full COVID-19 vaccination series OR proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

SEFA seeks bakers (and tasters) for annual Bake Off fundraiser

Later this month begins the 20th annual State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) United Way Bake Off, and organizers invite faculty and staff members to consider baking a dessert to help raise money for this popular and tasty campaign.  

In addition to traditional entries, SEFA encourages bakers to consider making special items like those that are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and sugar-free to expand the number of tasters who can enjoy this fundraiser.
