Applications open for SUNY Chancellor's Awards and Distinguished Faculty ranks

Each year the State University of New York recognizes outstanding faculty service, teaching, librarianship, scholarship and creative activity through the conferral of Chancellor's Awards for Excellence and the promotions to the Distinguished Faculty ranks.

SUNY Oswego is authorized to submit up to four nominations for each of the following Chancellor's Awards:

Flu shots available on campus in October

SUNY Oswego will host flu immunization clinics open to students, faculty and staff in partnership with Wegmans Food Markets' pharmacy services. Clinics will take place the following dates and times, all in The Space in Marano Campus Center, with online registration required.

Vote Oswego Day offers virtual events

Today (Oct. 1), the non-partisan civic engagement initiative Vote Oswego will sponsor a series of events for Vote Oswego Day.

Events will include a variety of efforts supporting students as they register to vote and request absentee ballots, trivia games related to the voting process and educational sessions about what to expect when it comes time to fill out an absentee ballot or go to the polls.

Yusef Salaam, exonerated member of 'Central Park Five,' to speak Oct. 6

Yusef Salaam, who served nearly seven years for a crime he did not commit as one of the since-exonerated "Central Park Five," will discuss his story and the need for justice reform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, as part of the virtual I Am Oz Diversity Speaker Series.

'Self-Care Sunday' podcast launched

A new campus-based podcast mini-series recent launched called "Self-Care Sunday."

This podcast was co-created by mental health counseling graduate student Shannon France and Kyle Dzintars, a counselor from the Counseling Services Center.

Performer Sabrina Carpenter to provide free fundraising concert Oct. 2

Singer, songwriter and actress Sabrina Carpenter will present an exclusive virtual concert for the campus community at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, as a fundraiser for the Student Emergency Fund and SHOP pantry.

'Writing Away Stress' program slated Oct. 6

 The Employee Assistance Program Committee will collaborate with the Discover Wellness worksite wellness program to offer SUNY Oswego employees a "Writing Away Stress" session from 1 to 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The program, presented over Zoom, is open to all employees via online registration.
