Student takes second in state business competition with concept to help others with impaired vision

Erin Czadzeck, a student in SUNY Oswego’s master of business administration (MBA) program, recently earned second place in the software and services category of the New York State Business Plan Competition for Insight, an app that would help fellow blind and visually impaired people pick out clothes independently and create outfits every morning.

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is celebrated throughout May, offering the SUNY Oswego community an opportunity to recognize the rich contributions and achievements of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in shaping the nation's history, culture and society.

The AAPI community is composed of over 50 distinct ethnic groups, including Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Hawaiian, Samoan, Cambodian, Uzbek and many others, each with its own unique history and traditions.

RCA Reflections talk to look at combating invasive emerald ash borer

The next installment of Rice Creek Associates (RCA) Reflections will feature researcher Robert L. Smith discussing local steps to combat the invasive emerald ash borer beetle at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek Field Station.

Targeting all native species of ash trees, the emerald ash borer has spread to 36 states including New York and is responsible for the death and decline of tens of millions of ash trees, researchers said.
