People and Partners
Project SMART is a collaboration between SUNY Oswego area schools, business and industry, and SUNY Oswego School of Communications, Media, and the Arts (SCMA). Financial support has been provided by NCLB-TLQP, and ENTERGY, the New York Power Authority, Niagara Mohawk. These and many other regional business partners in Central New York support Project SMART with contributions of time and other in-kind efforts. School districts in Oswego and Onondaga Counties, Albany and Rochester City School Districts, and other schools throughout New York state support the participation of teachers and statewide training is provided in collaboration with other TLQP funded projects. The SUNY Oswego participants come from the School of Education and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Project BLEND is one of six TLQP initiatives funded by the New York State Education Department. It has evolved to become a highly respected tuition assistance scholarship program offered to aspiring leaders who are primarily tenured instructors in CNY’s high-need buildings and districts. Awarded recipients are nominated by administrators from our partner school districts in Onondaga and Oswego County. The selection process is competitive; those who are recipients receive tuition assistance as they complete the CAS in Educational Leadership at SUNY Oswego. Project BLEND Scholars and Alumni have access to extensive professional development and individualized coaching and mentoring with experienced educational administrators.
