We actively contribute to enhancing the intellectual growth, creativity, and well-being of our community. We recognize and respect the diverse and changing needs of our students, staff, and faculty; we shape our collections, services, and programs to empower our users.
Great Lake Review is SUNY Oswego's student-edited literary and art magazine. Great Lake Review is published, in general, every semester, and contains primarily student art work, poetry, fiction, and other literary work.
Oral histories reflect the content of Special Collections and the Archives. The audio recordings—almost exclusively audio cassette tapes recorded in the 1970s and 1980s—include both college history and local history interviewees.
Special Collections' oral histories include memories from Oswego Normal School students through SUNY Oswego students, faculty, administrators and staff. Local history subjects include industry, public schools, churches, politics and remembrances of residing notables, such as Dr. Mary Edwards Walker.
With over 2,000 books, Special Collections keeps certain editions separate from the Circulating Collection due to significant factors such as age, authorship, condition, provenance, and signatures.
