Four SUNY Oswego staff members recently earned awards from statewide organizations for succeeding in a number of ways on behalf of students, the campus, professional organizations and beyond.
For overall leadership and for addressing student and campus needs in many areas, three SUNY Oswego staff members have earned the 2022 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
Mary Craw, an office assistant in Residence Life and Housing, earned the 2022 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service, recognizing four decades of service consistently putting students first.
Outstanding work inside the classroom and supporting student research have earned Amplavanar Nanthakumar of SUNY Oswego’s Mathematics Department the rank of SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor.
World-spanning achievements in research, publications and academics have earned Sarfraz Mian of SUNY Oswego’s Management and Marketing Department the rank of SUNY Distinguished Professor.
For SUNY Oswego senior criminal justice major Kyaw Klay Jr., the Norman R. McConney Jr. Award for Student Excellence recognizes a road of overcoming obstacles, current excellence and transformative plans for the future.
SUNY Oswego’s registered dietitian Kathryn Szklany recently earned a statewide honor from the New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics with the Isabelle A. Hallahan Award.
SUNY Oswego senior Remmington Johnson awarded SUNY Chancellor award for military service. Johnson is a creative writing major who uses his writing to explore moral injury he has received from his military service, along with discussing his mental health diagnosis'.
