SUNY Oswego climbed to #37 from #39 in the U.S. News and World Report’s “2025 Best Regional Universities in the North” and earned the #9 spot in the North for social mobility, according to the publication released on September 26, 2024.

SUNY Oswego will celebrate Latin American Heritage Month, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, with speakers, movies, a Penfield Library display and more.

As global chair of PwC, Bob Moritz, a 1985 alumnus of SUNY Oswego’s accounting program, communicated with more than 4,700 CEOs from around the world through such instruments as the firm’s annual Global CEO Survey. And now, the Central New York region will have access to his expertise and experiences during SUNY Oswego’s inaugural Sheldon Lecture on Leadership and Service. The event will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the university’s Sheldon Hall Ballroom. It is free and open to the public.

The renovations of iconic Hewitt Hall, with an expected completion date of August 2025, will bring to life the values of SUNY Oswego’s School of Communication, Media and the Arts: innovation, inspiration and interdisciplinary collaboration. This $80 million project converts the historic former student union into a state-of-the-art media and visual arts center, creating an “arts corridor” between Tyler and Hewitt halls.

SUNY Oswego recognizes its highest academic achievers with its President's List for spring 2024. President's List students are undergraduates attaining semester grade-point averages of 3.8 or higher while carrying 12 or more academic credits. Our congratulations to them all!

"One City. One Campus. One Community." -- a now annual project supported by the President’s Office at SUNY Oswego, the City of Oswego Mayor's Office and the joint Campus-City Relations Committee (CCRC) -- unveiled student photojournalism promoting SUNY Oswego and community partnerships on May 1 in Oswego's City Hall.

SUNY Oswego celebrated its May 2024 graduates with three Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 11.

SUNY Oswego accounting major Samisha Élysée will be among the first to graduate with the entrepreneurship minor launched in 2019, as she prepares for an ambitious future.

SUNY Oswego will host a keynote speaker talking about navigating political conflict as part of the Counseling Centers of New York Conference on campus May 29 to 31.

On Friday, April 19, the university mentoring program Focus Forward celebrated its annual recognition dinner. Families of mentees from local public schools, as well as college mentors, were invited to partake in the dinner.
