Gathering to remember faculty member Brian Hough

Members of the Department of Atmospheric and Geological Sciences cordially invite students, faculty and staff to join them in celebrating the life of Assistant Professor Brian Hough. The gathering will be held in the Shineman Center Nucleus on Friday, Nov. 9 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Tonight's vigil to honor the victims of the Kentucky and Pittsburgh shootings

The college Student Association invites all members of the campus community to join them this evening to pay respect and homage to the victims of the recent shootings at a Kroger grocery store in Kentucky and the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. The vigil will take place at 6:30 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 2) at the Peace Memorial located between Tyler and Seneca halls.

The rain location for the vigil will be the Marano Campus Center food and activity court.  

Program seeks mentors for elementary students

University Police to participate in No Shave November

Officers of the SUNY Oswego University Police Department will forgo shaving throughout the month of November in a collective effort to grow cancer awareness and raise funds to support cancer prevention, research and education. 

So don't be alarmed if you come across our officers who may be growing beards; it's only for one month and it's for a great cause. Female officers may participate by wearing a blue ribbon or a blue stripe in their hair. 

7 Oswego students to compete at internship showcase

Seven students will represent SUNY Oswego at the upcoming Central New York Career Development Association "CNY Internship Showcase" at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at SUNY Oswego's Syracuse campus.

In all, 20 students were competitively selected to present about their internship experiences and will represent six institutions, vying for the opportunity to win a $500 judge-based prize and a $200 Audience Choice Award.

Blackboard planned maintenance happening this weekend

A planned maintenance of Blackboard is scheduled from 10:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, through 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. During this time, Blackboard functionality will be intermittent as our hosting provider’s Internet connection undergoes network maintenance. Accessing Blackboard and performing work in courses could be unreliable during this period. Please plan ahead.
