Speaker to look at 'bad language' trends under current FCC

Guest lecturer Richard Peltz-Steele will explore how the current Federal Communications Commission treats explicit language during "WTF? Proliferating Profanity Under a Conservative FCC," at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in Room 114, Marano Campus Center.

SUNY Oswego's political science department sponsors the free talk by Peltz-Steele, a University of Massachusetts law professsor and researcher in First Amendment law.

Campus Technology Services has learned that thousands of Oswego email addresses and passwords have been made public recently, as part of several massive information dumps. It is important to note that passwords for SUNY Oswego services were NOT disclosed, but users may still need to take action.

Artswego now accepting funding applications

Proposals for Artswego support are due March 25 for activities that will take place the following academic year. Applications will be reviewed on the basis of artistic quality, educational relevance, strength of planning and commitment of other funds or resources.

Funding recommendations are the responsibility of the Arts Programming Board, a diverse committee of faculty, staff and student representatives.

Mackin Dining Center reopens today

Repairs are complete, and Mackin Dining Center will reopen for normal hours and service (including GET Food ordering) beginning today (Monday, Feb. 25).
