Color Oswego returns May 3

An annual colorful event for fitness and fun will unfold when Color Oswego -- a run/walk where participants are splashed with powder -- takes place at 4 p.m. Friday, May 3.

A staple on Oswego’s campus for students, staff and faculty, the event on a 1.5-mile course will begin at Glimmerglass Fitness Center.

University Police participates in annual Buckle-Up campaign

University Police is in the midst of an annual campaign, deploying special patrols to look for motorists who are not wearing their seatbelts.

Buckle-Up Day and Night runs through April 29 at SUNY Oswego. This is part of the nationwide effort that traditionally takes place in May, but University Police is granted a variation to run the campaign earlier due to the college Commencement in mid-May.

The patrols are funded by a grant from the federal government through the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.

Mindful yoga to return on Fridays

Initially piloted for eight weeks, an on-campus offering of mindful yoga has officially been extended to the end of the semester, at 4 p.m. Fridays in Lee Hall's second-floor karate studio.

A three-part restorative practice, mindful yoga focuses on body/mind/breath awareness, mindful movement and appreciation of the present moment. Each of the three sections last approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Late comers are welcome to join at anytime during the first 30 to 40 minutes.

Calling all students! Help the college promote all the things you love about your residence hall.  We invite you to create and submit a one-minute video that provides prospective students -- who are currently deciding if they want to enroll at Oswego -- with valuable information about our on-campus living experience and what you (our current students) love about your residence halls. 

All students whose videos are accepted for the final cut will be invited to a special premiere party at the end of the semester. Below are important project guidelines we ask you to follow:

International research forum part of Quest activities

During Quest, the School of Business will hosting the SHNU-SUNY Oswego Student Research Forum, an annual joint research conference hosted by SUNY Oswego and Shanghai Normal University. 

The conference alternates between Shanghai, China and Oswego. It consists of a series of oral presentations featuring business-related topics including finance, marketing, operation research, international business, management and economics. The conference provides awards for the first-, second- and third-place winners.
