Today is International Women’s Day which falls into March’s Women’s History Month. Did you know that Women’s History Month has a theme? It is Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. 

History

Before it was Women’s History Month, Women’s History Week was celebrated first during the week beginning March 7, 1982, with Congressional approval through Pub. L. 97-28 in 1981. 

On Wednesday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform maintenance on LakerPrint servers used for student printing. During this time, LakerPrint will be intermittently unavailable for everyone.

Penfield Library is seeking submissions from faculty and staff for Display To Archives 2023-24 by the March 20 submission deadline.

Here is closing information for some key resources over Spring Break (March 9 to 17):

Residence Life and Housing

Residence halls will close at 10 a.m. on March 9 and reopen at noon on March 17.  

The Point

The Point will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8, and will be closed the weekends prior to and after Spring Break. During the break, The Point will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with regular hours resuming on Monday, March 18.

SUNY Oswego's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will host a pair of salad bowl luncheons from noon to 1 p.m. on March 20 and April 9 in 114 Marano Campus Center.

The deadline is next Monday, March 11, to submit nominations for the 2024 Outstanding Senior Award, presented by the Oswego Alumni Association.

This honor recognizes a senior student for their exceptional involvement on campus and academic excellence during their time at SUNY Oswego.

All students graduating in May, August or December of 2024 are eligible to apply.

On Friday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform network maintenance on the academic wireless network.

During this time, academic wireless service will be intermittently unavailable throughout the SUNY Oswego campus, including remote sites (such as the Office of Workforce Innovation and External Relations, Rice Creek Field Station and the Syracuse Campus).

Graduates Of the Last Decade (GOLD) alumni are asked to "get in the game" by supporting SUNY Oswego's March Matchness.

Nominations are open for recipients to be honored at Student Leadership Ceremony, presented by the department of Student Engagement and Leadership and the Office of the Provost.

As part of SUNY Oswego's ongoing development of its next strategic plan, students, faculty and staff are invited to take part in a strategic plan campus engagement session from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, in The Space, Marano Campus Center.
