SUNY Oswego's Health Services will host a Get Yourself Tested (GYT) event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at Mary Walker Health Center to encourage students to test for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

The first 100 students get one free test, with any tests costing $20 thereafter.

All students, employees, community members and alumni are invited to participate in the 8th annual Yards for Yeardley, walking to remember and to prevent dating and domestic violence, on Wednesday, April 26. Please note that this event has been moved indoors to Swetman Gym for weather purposes.

Registration is open for the 2023 edition of SUNY Oswego's popular Barbara Shineman Summer Scholars youth camps, July 24 through Aug. 18 on campus.

Sheldon Institute, now in its 44th year, provides opportunities for growth and learning in disciplines such as art, science, technology, humanities, wellness and leadership (just to name a few) for youth ages 7 to 15.  These camps are designed for youth to discover, collaborate and create all while developing new friendships. 

Spencer Lyons, an Onondaga Chief and curator of heritage seeds, will visit SUNY Oswego to give a free talk titled "Understanding the Haudenosaunee Through Their Traditional Media" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, in Room 175 of the Shineman Center.

SUNY Oswego will conduct a test of its emergency communication systems next week on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at approximately 11:40 a.m. The timing of the alert is intended to fully test the university’s emergency notification systems during an active time of day and at the beginning of the 11:30 a.m. slate of classes in session.

SUNY Oswego is taking the next step to enhance campus digital security and protect personally identifiable information and intellectual property. In continuation of the multi-factor authentication (MFA) security initiative the campus has been undergoing with various SUNY Oswego digital applications, Campus Technology Services (CTS) will enable MFA on LakerApps, our Google suite of Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Classroom and associated collaboration applications such as Google Chat and Meet.

The SUNY Oswego Gender and Women's Studies Program will host a panel discussion on "The Intersections of Reproductive Justice" from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, in the Marano Campus Center auditorium, room 132.

Sally Roesch Wagner, Executive Director of the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation in Fayetteville, will explore the term "reproductive justice" through a conversation with panelists on how experiences with reproductive justice differ based on race, income and gender identity among other social locations.

The Inclusive Community LGBTQIA+ Working Group is hosting open forums for LGBTQIA+ students, faculty and staff to learn about the work of the Inclusive Community LGBTQIA+ Working Group, and to share feelings, needs, concerns and suggestions.

Input will be included in a final report and plan to guide the campus moving forward.
