Sleep is one of the most important ways to ensure you are energized and ready to take on the day. Having a good night's sleep improves your brain performance, mood, and health. In one study, it showed that at least 60 percent of college students have poor-quality sleep.

Professor co-authors second novel, ‘The Trouble with Tinsel’

Juliet Giglio of the English and creative writing faculty and her husband Keith recently released their second novel, titled “The Trouble with Tinsel,” and will have a talk and book-signing at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the River’s End Bookstore.

A new health and wellness initiative, the Laker Thrive Series for Employees, continues through October and beyond with a series of enriching activities aimed at promoting well-being and fostering community.

All of these activities are free to all employees and serve as a complement to the many wellness offerings the university provides students. Some events might require registration due to a limited number of spots available due to activity space.

Advisement Center to host registration workshops

The Advisement Center will host registration workshops beginning on Monday, Oct. 9.

During this time, Advisement Guides will help students understand how to review their degree requirements, use Registration and Planning, as well as browse courses and add them to registration plans. Seats will be available at each workshop on a first-come first-serve basis; no sign-up is required.

Livestream available for Thursday’s State of the University Address

We are pleased to announce there will be a livestream of President Peter Nwosu’s inaugural State of the University Address at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 28) for those who are unable to join us in person. The address will stream live via the State of the University address website, and will originate from Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
