Student organizations eligible for Earth Day event funding

With the purpose of inspiring students to make sustainable change within the campus community, the Office of Sustainability will provide up to $400 in funding for registered SUNY Oswego student organizations to create their own unique Earth Month event or initiative.

Dinner and movie event offers opportunity for off-campus/commuter students

The Office of the Dean of Students is offering an opportunity for off-campus and commuter students to attend an event that will include a fully-paid dinner at a downtown restaurant and a movie ticket to Oswego Cinema, including snacks and drinks.

Three-Minute Thesis competition happening March 8

Graduate Studies will hold the annual Three-Minute Thesis Wednesday, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, via Zoom.

"Three-Minute Thesis celebrates the exciting research conducted by graduate students at SUNY Oswego," stated Dean of Graduate Studies Kristen Eichhorn, "this competition cultivates students' academic, presentation, and communication skills with the added value of practicing their virtual presentations necessary for 21st-century workplaces".

'How to Study' session for students today, led by peer tutors

The Office of Learning Services provides free peer tutoring for SUNY Oswego students, and two tutors will  co-facilitate a “How to Study” group session from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, in 215 Penfield Library.

EXCEL hiring First-Year Experience instructors for fall

EXCEL: Experiential Courses and Engaged Learning is seeking First-Year Experience instructors to teach an eight-week transition course (GST 104) in fall 2023. Both faculty and staff are encouraged to apply.

This program allows first-year students to earn credit for gaining academic skills, exploring the community, and connecting with campus staff and resources.

Oswego’s opportunity to donate to earthquake relief efforts for Syria and Turkey

A student Miss A Meal day on Thursday, March 9, and a request for faculty and staff donations will help earthquake relief efforts for Syria and Turkey.

On March 9, Student Association will team up with Auxiliary Services to sponsor this Miss A Meal program, where students can donate the cost of a meal in the dining halls to support international relief organization OxFam, and faculty and staff can make a monetary donation.

To know about Women’s History Month, you must look at International Women’s Day (IWD). International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 as a “global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.” This is a day of activism to continue fighting for women’s equality.

SUNY Oswego's I Am Oz Diversity Speaker Series will host Chase Strangio, deputy director for transgender justice for the ACLU's LGBTQ and HIV Project, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, in the Marano Campus Center auditorium.
