Sounds of Summer Playlist seeks musical inspirations

For its weekly themed Sounds of Summer Playlist, Extended Learning wants to know what music inspires you.

Music can inspire us to do great things, and Summer Sessions 2021 provides opportunities for students to get inspired by multiple classes. Maybe art and theater courses are your jam. Perhaps statistics and accounting inspire you.  We are all motivated by different things. Signing up for a class can help inspire you to be your best.

Training offered to faculty, staff to support suicide prevention

QPR Gatekeeper Training -- a suicide-prevention training program that equips anyone with the framework to have difficult but possibly life-saving conversations -- will provide a virtual training opportunity for faculty and staff from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 25. 

QPR stands for "Question, Persuade, Refer" three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide.

Quarantine and Isolation Buddy program provides connections

For students, having to go into isolation (for a positive COVID-19 test) or quarantine (for potential infection) is not part of their college plans. But SUNY Oswego’s Quarantine and Isolation Buddy program, aimed at facilitating caring interactions with students who are isolated from everyone due to the virus, tries to make a difficult situation a little better.

Preparing employee computers for compatibility with Apple Big Sur OS

Since the release of the Big Sur (version 11) operating system, Campus Technology Services (CTS) has been assessing its compatibility with campus services. In some cases, vendors have had to release new versions of their software to address incompatibility with Big Sur. This includes the Cylance antivirus software installed on Macintosh-based employee computers.
