Dean of the School of Education Pam Michel announces retirement

Dear Members of the SUNY Oswego Campus Community, 

In higher education it seems that the only thing that is consistent is that there is always change around the corner. It is with that thought in mind that I let you know that Dean Pam Michel has announced that she will be retiring this summer.

Zoom recording and authentication updates to take place July 19

On July 19 at 8 a.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will remove Zoom recordings from previous semesters and update Zoom authentication to require SUNY Oswego credentials.

Collaboration produces sweet music for college choirs

Collaboration between the college’s music and communication studies departments meant that the show could go on, as the Men’s Choir and Women’s Choir lifted their voices for a live concert and documentary now available for viewing.

Change impacts telephone services

June 15, 2021

Effective July 1, Campus Technology Services will deactivate all personal billing numbers (PBNs). A PBN is used to make phone calls from on-campus to off campus numbers. The usage of PBNs has dropped dramatically the last few years and the costs associated with managing them has risen. Anyone with a positive or negative balance will be contacted directly so accounts can be reconciled.

CTS will continue to issue business-related billing numbers to all employees.

The Sheldon Institute for Barbara Shineman Scholars, offered by SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will hold the 42nd program during the weeks of July 19 to 23 and July 26 to 30 for children entering grades 2 through 10.

New summer program geared toward supporting success of rising sophomores

SUNY Oswego is pleased to announce that registration is open for the first-ever Summer Sophomore Orientation Program, scheduled for Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

This program is an optional, one-day, in-person summer orientation experience to connect rising sophomores with their peers and a returning student mentor, (re)introduce them to campus, including academic buildings and residence halls, and share information about the many campus services that support student success.
