Graduate Studies Week to provide insight, information via events

Graduate Studies Week, Nov. 9 to 12, will feature several virtual panel discussions featuring national speakers and local leaders on topics ranging from social media and disinformation to disruption in schools caused by COVID-19.

SEFA campaign includes $250 gift card drawing

The college's SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) campaign offers a chance to win a $250 Visa Gift Card, thanks to a generous donation from Compass Credit Union.

Chances cost $2 apiece or three chances for $5. All money raised through this event will be donated to local Oswego County organizations.

Penfield Library promotes student peer researchers

Penfield Library began hiring and training students as Peer Reference Assistants at the Research Help Desk, beginning in September 2019. The PRAs provide a welcoming and knowledgeable student face to the often complex process of conducting library research.

Al Roker receives AASCU’s 2020 Distinguished Alumnus Award

Al Roker ’76, weather and feature anchor on NBC News’ "TODAY" and a member of the Oswego College Foundation Board of Directors, was recognized by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) with the 2020 Distinguished Alumnus Award during a virtual ceremony on Oct. 27.

Grammy-winning Joanne Shenandoah to help open Global Awareness Conference

Grammy Award-winning musical artist Joanne Shenandoah will perform Nov. 6 as part of the Global Awareness Conference opening ceremonies, which begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.

Leandro Garrido came to Oswego from Brazil for the college’s highly regarded master’s in human-computer interaction. When he graduates in December, he will leave with a robust education and an experience designer job with Electronic Arts’ EA Sports franchise.
