Graduating in December 2020? Here's what you need to know.

Undergraduate students who will be graduating as of December 2020 and who have not yet filed online to graduate should do so as soon as possible. Undergraduates who will complete requirements in the fall 2020 semester should file no later than Wednesday, April 1, 2020 for their name to be listed in the Commencement program.

The “Nessie” survey is coming to Oswego

SUNY Oswego will be participating this semester in the upcoming National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) – the "Nessie" – a national assessment project that benchmarks Oswego's educational practices against student experiences at other universities. The college participates in the NSSE every three years.

Creative volunteers, participants needed for Maker Madness event

The third annual Maker Madness will return to SUNY Oswego’s Penfield Library next month for the free family event filled with hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities.

Sponsored by the Zonta Club of Oswego, SUNY Oswego, Novelis and the Central Square School District, Maker Madness will run 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.

Research, creative activity grant winners announced; deadline Monday for future grants

The Scholarly and Creative Activity Committee and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs awarded more than $30,000 in support of faculty and student research at the end of the fall semester. Applications for the next round of the Faculty Scholarly and Creative Activity Grants and for Faculty-Student Challenge Grants are due Monday, Feb. 17.

'Kill Shakespeare' production to make popular comic series come alive

A popular comic book series culminating in an epic battle between a famous playwright’s good and evil characters will play out on stage when SUNY Oswego hosts “Kill Shakespeare: The Live Graphic Novel,” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.

Presenters sought for annual Sportsmanship Day Symposium

The 12th annual Sportsmanship Day Symposium -- 2:20 to 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, in 105 Lanigan Hall -- seeks a variety of speakers from across disciplines to present on this topic.

Sponsored by the sociology department and the sports studies program, this event runs in conjunction with the 30th annual National Sportsmanship Day established to promote fair play, kindness and positive expressions in the world of athletics.

Penfield Library announces 2020 grant opportunity

Penfield Library is pleased to announce that applications are open for 2020 College Impact Collections Grants. Applications are due on March 31.

New this year is that Penfield can now accept applications for ebooks.

About the grant:

Grants of up to $500 each will be awarded to faculty and professional staff for selection of materials supporting professional development, scholarly activity, program/course curriculum needs or student success.
