Informational conversations with the Office of the Dean of Students set Nov. 14

The Office of the Dean of Students will host a tabling event for student outreach and support in the Tyler Hall lobby from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14.

Staff will be present and available to answer questions, and provide general information on basic needs resources, the Student Emergency Fund, campus resources, off-campus and commuters' resources, and adult learners resources. Organizers invite all students to come to chat and grab some fun giveaways.

Regular walk-in hours allow students to explore internships

The EXCEL (Experiential Courses and Engaged Learning) Office will offer regular walk-in hours to allow students to learn how to gain experience on and off campus -- including paid opportunities.

Students can ask questions and get help from internship coordinators during the hours below in the front room of The Compass, 145 Marano Campus Center.

‘John Proctor is the Villain’ explores teen hardships with classic novel as backdrop

The SUNY Oswego Theatre Department production of “John Proctor is the Villain,” opening Nov. 13, chronicles teenangers exploring the hardships of high school while studying the classic novel “The Crucible.“

SUNY Oswego joins Bee Campus USA program to preserve pollinators

SUNY Oswego has become an affiliate of the Bee Campus USA program, designed to marshal the strengths of educational campuses for the benefit of pollinators. Oswego joins many other cities and campuses across the country united in improving their landscapes for pollinators.

Latino Student Union's 47th annual dinner happening Saturday

The Latino Student Union invites the campus community to their 47th annual dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the event beginning at 7 p.m.

This year's dinner showcases Latino culture and contributions in New York City, with a theme of “Welcome To Spanish Harlem.”

President Nwosu to hold drop-in meetings today for students

SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu will host student drop-in hours today, Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center Food Court.  

All students are encouraged to drop in, say hello to President Nwosu, ask a question or discuss a topic of importance to them.

University to test emergency communications on Nov. 14

SUNY Oswego will conduct a test of its emergency communication systems on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024 at approximately 9:40 a.m. The timing of the alert is intended to fully test the university’s emergency notification systems during an active time of day and at the beginning of the 9:35 a.m. slate of classes in session.

ASAP session to explore ways to boost productivity in studying
