Oswego alumni event Sept. 28 at Rosamond Gifford Zoo

The Laker community is invited to join Oswego alumni, family and friends for a fun-filled day at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Attendees will enjoy a private animal encounter, an ice-cream sundae bar, brownies, cookies, zoo exploration and more.

Oswego Math Circle brings interested teens to campus

SUNY Oswego's Department of Mathematics is proud to announce a new program called the Oswego Math Circle, which plans for a monthly gathering aimed at 7th-12th graders in Oswego County. At each session, the students will grapple with some problems and explore some mathematical concepts that are not typically included in the K-12 curriculum. 

Biological sciences seminar to discuss fishery, research, science communication

New York Sea Grant Fisheries Specialist Stacy Furgal will discuss "Great Lakes Fishes, Research, and Science Communication" at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 in 132 Shineman Center as a Biological Sciences Departmental Seminar.

Furgal will cover a range of topics, including career exploration, current research projects and what day-to-day life is like as an extension specialist working in the Great Lakes region.

Campus COVID update for fall 2025

Dear students, staff and faculty:

We wanted to provide you with an update about COVID-19 and new changes from the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) that took place as of March 2024. The CDC has changed COVID guidance to mirror other respiratory virus guidelines, like the flu and RSV.  

Mahar Hall officially closed for entry

September 17, 2025

Effective immediately, Mahar Hall is closed and no entry is authorized as the building prepares for forthcoming renovations.

Individuals with keys for any space in Mahar are asked to drop them off at University Policy Dispatch, Attn: Brian Clyne, in Pathfinder Hall.

Final reminder: Panopto, Zoom retention policy running Sept. 19

As a final reminder, the retention policy for cloud storage with Panopto and Zoom will be completed Friday, Sept. 19. The policy is run annually on this day. The retention policy will do the following:
