Global Awareness Conference holding call for presenters

The college's 16th annual SUNY Oswego Global Awareness Conference seeks presenters for breakout sessions during the event, Nov. 1 and 2.

Last week for spring semester registration workshops

The Advisement Center will continue holding registration workshops throughout the end of the week.

During this time, Advisement Guides will help students understand how to review their degree requirements, use Registration and Planning, as well as browse courses and add them to registration plans.

Seats will be available at each workshop on a first-come first-serve basis; no sign-up is required.

Registration workshops will take place at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.; noon; 1 and 2 p.m. on the following days and locations:

Writing tutors ready to support students

As the end of the semester gets closer and writing assignment deadlines approach, the Office of Learning Services (OLS) Writing Center reminds students that their services are free and available.

'Thursday Social' to create connections, conversations among colleagues

SUNY Oswego Officer in Charge Mary Toale will host a "Thursday Social" -- the second installment of these informal opportunities to connect -- for faculty and staff from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, in The Space, Marano Campus Center.

Halloween Bash in Riggs and Johnson Halls set for Friday

Johnson and Riggs Halls invite students to join them for Halloween Bash at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, in their residence halls.

Activities will include a costume party, murder mysteries, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, movies, hallway table games, a photo booth, a mocktail bar, table games and a costume prize contest.

Prizes will include a polaroid camera, Apple Air Tags and Echo Show.

National Cyber Security Awareness Month topic: Mobile computing

In part three of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Campus Technology Services (CTS) will cover mobile computing, how to best protect your mobile devices and how to stay safe while using them.

Mobile computing is a term used to describe the act of using a mobile device. In this case a mobile device can be a cellphone, tablet laptop, or any computer with mobility in mind. Any mobile computing device should be treated like a traditional computer whenever possible to prevent virus infection or stolen data. 

Alternative spring break registration open with November deadline
