Save the dates for expanded MLK celebrations in early February

SUNY Oswego is expanding the tradition of its Martin Luther King, Jr. Ceremony to include aspects of education, celebration and action through a three-day series of events.

SUNY Oswego will present the 35th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Ceremony, highlighted by a keynote speaker, on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Waterman Theatre. Watch Oswego Today and other campus information outlets for more details.

2023-24 Winter Recess Schedule

Here is the closing scheduling for some key resources over the 2023-24 Winter Recess:

Residence Life and Housing

  • All Residence Halls except The Village close on Saturday Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. 
  • Will reopen on Jan. 21, 2024 at 9 a.m.
    ** New student move-in will take place on Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Study Abroad Q3 applications due Dec. 15

The application deadline for Study Abroad Q3 (third quarter) courses is this Friday, Dec. 15.

Students may choose from the following courses and locations:

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee teaming with Riverwalk for fundraiser

The Oswego Athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will partner with Riverwalk Pizza on a fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11.

During that period, for everybody who makes a purchase at the eatery, 155 West First St. in Oswego, Riverwalk will donate 10 percent of sales (excluding gift cards) will be donated to Oswego's SAAC.

Network maintenance scheduled for Monday, Dec. 18

On Monday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform wireless network maintenance. During this time, WiFi connection will be unavailable for everyone at the main campus, downtown Oswego location, Rice Creek and SUNY Oswego’s Syracuse Campus. Wired connections will not be affected.

Alternative Break programs fundraiser to support service projects

To benefit the 2024 Alternative Spring Breaks, organizers are selling Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Bars this holiday season.
Whether for stocking stuffers or other enjoyment, each full-sized chocolate bar costs $2, with in-person sales and email ordering options.

Penfield Library seeking submissions for Display To Archives 2023-24

Penfield Library is seeking submissions from faculty and staff for Display To Archives 2023-24. Display to Archives is Penfield Library's ongoing effort to collect, recognize, exhibit and promote access to the creative and scholarly work of SUNY Oswego's faculty and staff.

Counseling Services to host walk-in hours this week

During finals week, the Student Counseling Center will be open for drop-in hours in the Mary Walker Health Center on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

During this week, there will be no Let's Talk times.

Entrance sign to glow orange for awareness campaign on gender-based violence

Lights at the SUNY Oswego main entrance sign will glow orange starting at sunsets, running through Dec. 10, as part of the international 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence program.
