2024 Spring Break schedule

Here is closing information for some key resources over Spring Break (March 9 to 17):

Residence Life and Housing

Residence halls will close at 10 a.m. on March 9 and reopen at noon on March 17.  

The Point

The Point will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8, and will be closed the weekends prior to and after Spring Break. During the break, The Point will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with regular hours resuming on Monday, March 18.

EAP to host salad bowl luncheons

SUNY Oswego's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will host a pair of salad bowl luncheons from noon to 1 p.m. on March 20 and April 9 in 114 Marano Campus Center.

A visit by the Doppler on Wheels high-tech mobile radar vehicle, a preview of eclipse-related research, hands-on family activities and more are planned for SUNY Oswego’s STEM Community Day, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.

With the National Eclipse Ballooning Project, a SUNY Oswego faculty-student team is among the select institutions taking part in research related to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Deadline March 11 to nominate an outstanding senior

March 4, 2024

The deadline is next Monday, March 11, to submit nominations for the 2024 Outstanding Senior Award, presented by the Oswego Alumni Association.

This honor recognizes a senior student for their exceptional involvement on campus and academic excellence during their time at SUNY Oswego.

All students graduating in May, August or December of 2024 are eligible to apply.

Professor’s new book ‘Data Grab’ extends look at invasion of ‘big data’

SUNY Oswego communication studies professor Ulises Mejias and co-author Nick Couldry of the London School of Economics and Political Science have a new book out on an ever-timely topic, “Data Grab: The New Colonialism of Big Data and How to Fight Back.”

Academic wireless network maintenance this week

March 1, 2024

On Friday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform network maintenance on the academic wireless network.

During this time, academic wireless service will be intermittently unavailable throughout the SUNY Oswego campus, including remote sites (such as the Office of Workforce Innovation and External Relations, Rice Creek Field Station and the Syracuse Campus).
