Reduced Adobe Creative Cloud pricing available for SUNY students

SUNY has been working with Adobe to make the purchase of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite more affordable for all SUNY students. To this end, active students with a SUNY Oswego email address can purchase an annual subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud for $75 plus tax.

Rice Creek hosting events, preparing for total solar eclipse

The university’s Rice Creek Field Station’s activities during the April 8 total solar eclipse proved such a hot ticket, they sold out well ahead of the once-in-a-lifetime event.

Inaugural Women’s Empowerment Summit set March 26

March 20, 2024

SUNY Oswego’s first-ever Women’s Empowerment Summit will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, hosted by Career Services. 

The event will feature a variety of panels and workshops, all concluding with a catered networking event for students to mingle with panelists and members of the Oswego campus community. This free event has a menu planned from Auxiliary Services and a distinguished lineup of panelists to network with. 

Panel presentation to explore Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

A faculty panel will discuss "Making Sense of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, in 104 Lanigan Hall.

Faculty panelists will include:       

  • Arvind Diddi, Communication Studies
  • Lisa Glidden, Political Science
  • Jason Zenor, Communication Studies
  • Murat Yasar, History

Elizabeth Schmitt of the Economics Department will serve as moderator.

Advisement Center hosts registration planning workshops next week

The Advisement Center will be hosting registration planning workshops the week of Monday, March 25. During these workshops, Advisement Guides will help students understand how to review their degree requirements and use Registration and Planning.

Each session will focus on how to browse courses and add them to registration plans. Workshop attendees will create at least one academic plan for the Fall 2024 semester.

The university invites members of the campus community to an open forum with a candidate for the Vice President for Communication and Marketing position on Tuesday, March 26, at 1:30 p.m. in 201 Marano Campus Center.

IHOP Purim Festival offered this Sunday

March 19, 2024

Jewish Life at SUNY Oswego will offer an IHOP Purim Festival, where attendees can get their fill of brunch and other Purim treats, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, in 133 Marano Campus Center.

Organizers also will make food gifts, hear Megillah, and offer an opportunity to play games and take part in a bit of crafting to provide a Sunday evening boost.

President Nwosu to hold drop-in meetings today for students

SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu will host student drop-in hours today, Tuesday, March 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center food and activity court.  

All students are encouraged to drop in, say hello to President Nwosu, ask a question or discuss a topic of importance to them.

Faculty and staff Class of 2024 Senior Gift Campaign is under way

Faculty and staff are invited to participate in the Class of 2024 Senior Gift Campaign.

The Senior Class Gift Campaign allows seniors, family members, and faculty and staff, to make a gift in honor of a graduating student’s accomplishments. Gifts can be designated to a specific department, the Transforming Lives Scholarship Fund, student organizations, Students Helping Oz Peers (SHOP), where the need is greatest or one of many other options.
