RCA Reflections to feature emeritus professor's presentation on plant adaptations

James (Jim) Seago, professor emeritus of biological sciences at SUNY Oswego, will discuss "Plant Adaptations to Water and Wetlands" at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, in the next installment of Rice Creek Associates (RCA) Reflections at Rice Creek Field Station.

Winners announced in third Subnivean Awards

Subnivean, SUNY Oswego’s student-staffed digital publication, recently announced the winners of the 2023 Subnivean Awards. This year marked the international literary competition’s third successful year. Award-winning poet Kazim Ali, recently featured on the cover of The Writers’ Chronicle, served as final judge in poetry while Joan Silber, recently interviewed in The New Yorker, served as the final judge in fiction.

Retirement party for Susan Salisbury set June 13

A retirement party for Susan Salisbury of Campus Technology Services is slated for 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, in Room 114 of Marano Campus Center.

Salisbury will retiring on June 22 after 40 years of service with SUNY Oswego!

The campus is invited to take part in celebrating Salisbury's career on June 13, and refreshments will be served.

Friendships can help overcome early trauma, faculty research finds

Forming friendships can help mitigate the effects of trauma early in life, according to new research released by a team led by SUNY Oswego biological sciences faculty member Liz Lange. While the study involved baboons, researchers see tangible connections to humans.

Technology students excel at national conference

SUNY Oswego Technology Student Association (OTSA) members added more awards to their trophy case at the recent ITEEA (International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Conference), April 12 to 15 in Minneapolis.

Campus network maintenance set June 3

On Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to noon. Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform network maintenance. Several technology services could be briefly and intermittently unavailable during the maintenance window from on and off campus. These services include but are not limited to Brightspace, myOswego, Gmail, VPN, phone, wired network, wireless network and Internet.
