SUNY Oswego’s IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will return to provide free tax assistance for the community in Oswego and Fulton this spring.

SHOP opens today for spring semester

Students Helping Oz Peers (SHOP) is open for the spring semester as of Jan. 31.

Located in room 3 in the basement of Penfield Library, SHOP offers a wide range of non-perishable food items, toiletries, clothing and more to those in need.

Hours for the semester are:

  • Mondays through Thursdays: 4 to 7 p.m.
  • Fridays: 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During those hours, SHOP will be open for students, faculty, and staff to utilize.

Freshman business administration major Simone Bednarik, a women's hockey player from Illinois in the college's Honors Program, recently had an unparalleled experience playing for the Slovakia national team in Europe for a chance to play in the Winter Olympics.
