Presentation to examine post-Cold War Europe, Ukraine situation

Kate Graney, a professor from Skidmore College and expert on politics in the former Soviet Union, will present “Europe a Generation After the Cold War: Hopes and Portents” at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, to the Oswego campus community via Zoom.

Political science professor Helen Knowles, who invited Graney to make this presentation, noted that the crisis in Ukraine will factor prominently in this analysis.  

Early opt-in for multi-factor authentication available

Campus Technology Services (CTS) announced earlier this month the campus will add a second layer of authentication to certain campus services including Blackboard, Zoom, Office 365, Adobe, Library databases, Administrative Banner and Spectrum U.

Advisement Center workshops open through end of week

The Advisement Center will continue hosting registration workshops the rest of this week.

During this time, Advisement Guides will help students understand how to review their degree requirements, use Registration and Planning, as well as browse courses and add them to registration plans. This is also a great opportunity to get a refresher on the registration process.

There will be 10 seats at each workshop available on a first-come first-served basis: No sign up is required.

Flags to fly at half-staff for passing of Madeleine Albright

American flags will fly at half-staff through sunset on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in honor of Madeleine Korbel Albright, following a proclamation by President Joseph Biden.

The first woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State, Albright was "a force," Biden noted in his proclamation. "She defied convention and broke barriers again and again. She was an immigrant fleeing persecution. A refugee in need of safe haven. And like so many before her — and after — she was proudly American."

The next installment of the I Am Oz Diversity Speaker Series, featuring award-winning author, educator and producer Ilyasah Shabazz, will take place on Monday, April 18 at 7 p.m. in the Sheldon Hall ballroom. The talk was rescheduled from a previous date but now welcomes the campus community to hear her story.
