SUNY Oswego recently announced a new online master’s in health promotion and behavioral wellness, which responds to the increasing need for skilled health promotion and wellness professionals, providing a comprehensive curriculum that equips students for influential roles in this dynamic field.

Faculty Scholarly and Creative Activity Grant awards announced

The Spring 2024 round of the Faculty Scholarly and Creative Activities Grant application/review process resulted in five proposals selected for funding by members of the Scholarly and Creative Activity Committee and ultimately approved for funding by Provost Scott Furlong. The funded proposals added up to more than $12,091

Strategic Planning Town Hall to take place on April 10

SUNY Oswego’s second university-wide Strategic Planning Town Hall for 2023-2024 will take place from 3 to 4 pm on Wednesday, April 10, in 201 Marano Campus Center and via Zoom.

As announced previously by President Peter Nwosu, campus community involvement is a critical part of creating the university’s next strategic plan in support of Vision 4040: Expanding SUNY Oswego’s Promise.

Student satisfaction surveys appeared in inboxes this week

Starting on April 3, SUNY Oswego students should have begun receiving the triennial SUNY Satisfaction Survey (SSS), a key tool in evaluating various aspects of campus.

SUNY institutions survey undergraduate students every third year during the spring semesters, with the goal of determining how well campuses serve their undergraduate students and their level of satisfaction. This survey is a prime opportunity for students to use their voices by taking a few minutes to complete.

‘Addams Family’ musical presents new look at famous characters

April is National Deaf History Month. Introduced in 1997 by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), National Deaf History Month is dedicated to increasing public understanding of the history, language, and culture specific to the deaf and hard-of-hearing people in American communities.

On Thursday, April 18, and Friday, April 19, photographers will capture captivating moments across the picturesque campus for promotional photos — and organizers would love to see Oswego students take center stage.

"Pride and Entrepreneurship" talk presented by Pride Alliance and Career Services

Pride Alliance and Career Services will sponsor a talk titled "Pride and Entrepreneurship" with the co-owners of Blue Salt Air sharing their experiences building businesses and family. The free talk will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, in 232 Marano Campus Center.

'Covering the Eclipse' class offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for student storytellers

Two BFA Exhibitions to showcase student talent

A pair of Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Exhibitions in Tyler Art Gallery will showcase work from graduating SUNY Oswego art students.

The first exhibition will run from April 9 through 21, with an artists’ reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 12. The second exhibition will run from April 30 to May 10, with the artists’ reception taking place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 3.

The exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public.
