Each eligible employee is entitled to one day as a Christmas Day holiday and one day as a New Year’s Day holiday for purposes of holiday compensation. The days that eligible CSEA represented, PEF represented, UUP represented (non-faculty), and Management/Confidential (M/C) employees will observe as the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays will be contingent upon their regular work schedule* as follows:

SUNY Oswego is pleased to inform our employees that the New York State Office of Employee Relations (OER) has reached agreements with the unions to further extend the annual vacation accrual expiration for all bargaining units and management/confidential employees. Normally, any vacation accruals in excess of 40 days at the close of business on December 31 are forfeited to bring vacation leave credits down to 40 days as of January 1. However, with the accrual cap expiration being extended, all unused annual leave can now be carried over for an additional year through December 31, 2023. These changes will automatically be reflected in the SUNY Time and Attendance system; no action on your part is necessary.

The 2023 Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) allows eligible employees represented by CSEA to exchange vacation and/or personal leave for a credit to be applied toward their health insurance premium.  The PEP Credit will be applied to biweekly paychecks issued between January 1st to December 31st of 2023.

The enrollment period for the 2022 calendar year is from November 1, 2022 to December 12, 2022. Full employees in Salary Grades (SG) 1-17 who meet eligibility requirements will forfeit either 4 days for up to a $800 annual health insurance credit (will receive a bi-weekly credit of $30.77) or 8 days for up to a $1600 annual health insurance credit (will receive a bi-weekly credit of $61.54). 

The 2023 Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) allows eligible employees represented by UUP to exchange vacation leave for a credit to be applied toward their health insurance premium. The PEP Credit will be applied to biweekly paychecks issued between January 1st and December 31st of 2023.

The enrollment period for the 2023 calendar year is from Tuesday, November 1 to Monday, December 12, 2022.

Eligible full-time employees with a salary of $72,366 and below who enroll in PEP for the 2023 plan year will forfeit a total of three days of vacation leave in return for a credit of up to $600 or six days of leave for a credit of $1200 to be applied toward the employee share of NYSHIP premiums.

The open enrollment period for 2023 Flex Spending Account is November 1, 2022 to December 12, 2022. The Flex Spending Account (FSA) includes the Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAAccount) and the HealthCare Spending Account (HCSAccount).

Dear SUNY Oswego employees,

Do you have a federal student loan? If so, you may be able to benefit from temporary changes made to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. These changes, called the “Limited PSLF Waiver,” are helping borrowers across the nation more easily get their loans forgiven – but if you haven’t already applied for PSLF, you must submit a PSLF form and/or consolidate your non-Direct federal student loans by October 31 to get the benefit.

When filing your online application, please be advised that technical assistance is available Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.                                                                                                         

Summer hours for office employees will begin effective Monday, May 16, 2022. Hours will be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with a one-half hour lunch break. Summer hours will remain in effect through Friday, August 12, 2022. Human Resources would like to announce the annual rollout of mandatory online training courses through the Thomson Reuters Compliance Learning Program. These include: Preventing Workplace Violence, Domestic Violence Prevention in the Workplace, Child Sexual Abuse Reporting, Preventing Discrimination and Harassment, Internal Controls Essentials, Right to Know, and Information Security Awareness.

In the next few days, you should receive a training assignment email from Thomson Reuters Compliance Learning providing online access to these training courses. You will have 30 days to complete the seven courses. Once you have completed the courses, Human Resources will automatically receive confirmation and no further action is required by you.
