Resources offered for National Retirement Security Month

October is National Retirement Security Month (NRSM), a national event to promote the benefits of saving for retirement. 

This month, the college's Office of Human Resources encourages everyone to think about their retirement plans and to review all available options, including employer-sponsored offered by SUNY. Online information is available on the retirement plans and supplemental retirement savings plans available to SUNY Oswego employees.  

Campus Recreation offering healthy menu of activities

Campus Recreation has a range of engaging programs for students this October and November.

Campus Recreation will kick off October with an "Eat Well - Be Well" cooking demo program, which includes an online way for students to find quick healthy recipes to make along with tips on eating healthy in the dining halls.

SUNY Chancellor's Awards and Distinguished Faculty Selection Committee 2020-2021 vote

Nominations have been received for the open seats on the SUNY Chancellor's Awards and Distinguished Faculty Selection Committee. You can vote on the nominees for these seats via Google Forms. Although the numbers of nominees within each category is low, a vote for these positions still must be held. Please submit your votes by 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2020.

Each year the State University of New York recognizes outstanding faculty service, teaching, librarianship, scholarship and creative activity through the conferral of Chancellor's Awards for Excellence and the promotions to the Distinguished Faculty ranks.

SUNY Oswego is authorized to submit up to four nominations for each of the following Chancellor's Awards:

Vote Oswego Day offers virtual events

Today (Oct. 1), the non-partisan civic engagement initiative Vote Oswego will sponsor a series of events for Vote Oswego Day.

Events will include a variety of efforts supporting students as they register to vote and request absentee ballots, trivia games related to the voting process and educational sessions about what to expect when it comes time to fill out an absentee ballot or go to the polls. 

'Self-Care Sunday' podcast launched

A new campus-based podcast mini-series recent launched called "Self-Care Sunday."

This podcast was co-created by mental health counseling graduate student Shannon France and Kyle Dzintars, a counselor from the Counseling Services Center.

Training sessions offered for HR request forms

'Writing Away Stress' program slated Oct. 6

 The Employee Assistance Program Committee will collaborate with the Discover Wellness worksite wellness program to offer SUNY Oswego employees a "Writing Away Stress" session from 1 to 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The program, presented over Zoom, is open to all employees via online registration.
