SUNY Oswego students train with Tectonic Theater Project on campus

The SUNY Oswego Theatre Department hosted a transformative experience last weekend when the award-winning Tectonic Theater Project was on campus to share their devising method called Moment Work with students.

The company’s trademark technique has fostered Tectonic’s landmark plays including the 2024 Play Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize "Here There Are Blueberries," and the sentinel play "The Laramie Project," which SUNY Oswego will produce this fall in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre from Oct. 16 to 20.

Laker Thrive Series for Employees to continue providing healthy activities

The Laker Thrive Series for Employees health and wellness initiative will continue this fall with a series of enriching activities aimed at promoting well-being and fostering community.

All activities are free to all employees and serve as a complement to the many wellness offerings the university provides students. Some events might require registration due to a limited number of spots available due to activity space.

All SUNY Oswego full-time and part-time employees are welcome – including adjunct faculty, Auxiliary Services and Research Foundation employees.

Panopto/Zoom retention policy to feature Sept. 19 run

Penfield Library introduces extended laptop loans

To expand access and support student success, Penfield Library now offers longer loan periods for laptops for students. Week-long loans of laptops and Macbooks as well as three-hour loans (in-library use only) for Chromebooks are now available to all students.

Strategic Planning Town Hall set for Sept. 6

SUNY Oswego will hold another university-wide Strategic Planning Town Hall at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, in 114 Marano Campus Center and via this Zoom link. President Peter O. Nwosu and co-chairs Liz Schmitt and Scott Furlong will provide an update and summary of the plan.

First two events in Civic Discourse Series announced

The university’s Civic Discourse Series – designed to provide dialogue around current issues – will feature discussion on media and information literature on Sept. 4 and on the legacy of 9/11 on Sept. 11.

Campus server maintenance scheduled for Aug. 31 and Sept. 1

SEFA’s Totally Teal to support ovarian cancer awareness
