Journal Jenga to present interactive wellness workshop

The campus community is invited to take a break and connect with their inner selves during Journal Jenga, an interactive wellness workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 1 in 142 Marano Campus Center.

Organizers describe this as a creative, hands-on mental health activity designed to encourage self-reflection and self-care. Each Jenga block holds a unique journal prompt to spark meaningful conversations and personal growth in a fun, low-pressure setting.

Design Club exhibition showcasing student work

The campus community is invited to support and appreciate the work of the many students who submitted to the Design Club's third annual exhibition, now showing in the Marano Campus Center Chu Atrium. 

Organizers said there is a lot of great work to see, and particularly encouraged students to come support classmates and peers.

The exhibition will run through May 1 in Chu Atrium, located right near the Marano Campus Center bus loop.

StoryTeller's Guild to present 22nd annual Arcon gaming convention this weekend

This weekend, the SUNY Oswego StoryTellers' Guild will host their 22nd annual gaming convention known as Arcon.

Held in the school's Marano Campus Center, Arcon Vol. 22 is a multi-day event in which people gather to participate in roleplaying games, card games, video games, board games, miniature games, LARPs (live-action role playing) and all sorts of other types of gaming.

Volunteer ushers sought for May Commencement

As the campus prepares to celebrate many graduates during three ceremonies on Saturday, May 17, the Public Ceremonies Committee again seeks volunteer ushers to help ensure a happy day for families and friends in attendance.

Ushers help with overall crowd management and seating people with special needs at the ceremonies in the Marano Campus Center's Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall, but moreover, they help make this joyous day run smoother for the many guests celebrating this important milestone.

SEFA basket fundraiser runs through April 29

The SUNY Oswego State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) Planning Committee invites the campus community to learn more about what the Port City has to offer via the return of the Explore Oswego raffle with eight prize baskets worth over $3,000. Proceeds benefit the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Faculty Research Exchange features experts in chemistry, communication/media studies

The campus community is invited to attend the last Faculty Research Exchange of the 2024-2025 academic year in 215 Penfield Library from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1.

Presenters include Manish Singh, Department of Chemistry, and Jason Zenor, Department of Communication Studies, sharing their research and answering audience questions.
