Semester's final flu and COVID vaccine clinic Oct. 28

SUNY Oswego, in partnership with Wegmans Pharmacy, will host its final vaccination clinic of the semester on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Swetman Gym. Flu and COVID vaccines will be available for students and employees.

As part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Campus Technology Services (CTS) is covering new cybersecurity threats that have emerged this year. Today’s topic is calendar phishing.

Mail calendar services such as Google Calendar are central to every Laker’s daily life. As is the case with other digital tools people rely on, malicious actors have targeted these calendar services as another avenue to deceive and defraud. 

1861 Giving Challenge is under way

The 1861 Giving Challenge is under way: The timer started at 8 a.m. today and runs until 3:01 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 24.

The challenge has 1,861 minutes to get 861 donors to make a gift to the university. If that goal is met, 1987 graduate Steve Levy of ESPN and ABC Sports will contribute $100,000 to SUNY Oswego.

Financial literacy presentation for students set Oct. 23

The Money Matters program will host Raymond Sykes from Citizens Bank for an informative presentation on financial literacy, including learning how to purchase a car and credit, from 5 to 6 p.m. in 231 Marano Campus Center.

Students are encouraged to take this opportunity to learn valuable insights directly from a financial professional.

Run by the Office of Financial Aid, the Money Matters program is a peer-to-peer program to support student financial literacy.

Students invited to take the National College Health Assessment

The Office of the Dean of Students asks students to take the National College Health Assessment for a chance to win one of 90 great prizes, from JBL headphones to Dining Dollars to Oswego swag and tumblers.

The survey takes about 20 to 30 minutes and it can be found in your Oswego email. It will ask you a series of questions regarding your personal health and wellbeing practices. The due date is Oct. 18.
