Fourth annual Sales Triathlon runs today and tomorrow

The fourth annual Sales Triathlon, sponsored by the School of Business, will unfold April 7 and 8 and present opportunities for students in all majors to develop professional skills.

Events will take place in Rich Hall and in the Marano Campus Center’s Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall.

Activities will include 12-minute Role Plays with students and executive volunteers, 12-minute Mock Interviews with executives and a Speed Selling competition.

Drive for food and other items this month will support SHOP pantry

The Counseling Outreach Peer Educators team will host a drive for food and other items in support of SHOP (Students Helping Oz Peers) from April 7 to April 25. This is an opportunity to help provide essential resources to students in need and make a positive impact.

Sign-up open for Lavender Graduation, hosted by Pride Alliance

Lavender Graduation, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, is an event in which LGBTQ+ students and allies acknowledge what they have accomplished as well as what they hope to accomplish in the future. Pride Alliance is hosting this semester's Lavender Graduation in the Marano Campus Center auditorium (room 132).

Family and Friends Weekend welcomes faculty event proposals

Family and Friends Weekend 2025 will run from Friday, Oct. 17, through Sunday, Oct. 19, and Student Orientation and Family Engagement (SOFE) would like to support events hosted by faculty members on campus.

If you are interested in hosting an event to connect with Laker families and friends, please fill out the Family and Friends Weekend - Program Proposal Google Form. Submissions ideally would be received by May 2.

President Nwosu to hold drop-in meetings today for students

April 1, 2025

SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu will host student drop-in hours today, Wednesday,  April 2, from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center Food Court.  

All students are encouraged to drop in, say hello to President Nwosu, ask a question or discuss a topic of importance to them.

 

Women In Entertainment Panel set April 7

Career Services and Women In Entertainment will team up for its first-ever panel: The Women In Entertainment Panel, starting at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 7, in 114 Marano Campus Center.

The moderated panel, free and open to the campus, will feature female leaders in the entertainment industry discussing their experiences from 5 to 5:50 p.m. in 114 Marano. A networking event with food and beverages will follow in the Marano Campus Center hearth lounge, adjacent to the panel location.

COPE to host Tea Talk/Self-Care Bingo

The Counseling Outreach Peer Educators (COPE) will host a special edition of Tea Talk with Self-Care Bingo from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, in Hart Hall.

The event will feature snacks for all and prizes for players to win.

COPE is a student-run program of Counseling Services.

College Council renamed University Council

The oversight body previously known as SUNY Oswego’s College Council was officially renamed University Council at the group’s Feb. 26 meeting.

The University Council at SUNY Oswego serves as an oversight and advisory body to the campus and to the president and senior cabinet of SUNY Oswego.

A resolution notes the reasoning relates to Oswego’s upgraded institutional status from a college to a university.

'Know Before You Go: GYT' event set April 9

The “Know Before You Go: GYT" event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 9 on the Marano Campus Center concourse is a different Get Yourself Tested (GYT) event from past years.

Instead of holding testing and tabling inside the Dr. Mary Walker Health Center, organizers are bringing this informational event to a more central location to make sexually transmitted infections (STI) education and resources even more accessible to students.
